If the tongue has a thick coat, it indicates an imbalance that affects the physiology of the body. It may be the result of an injury or illness. A thick white coating may also be a sign of infection or to indicate that any part of the system does not perform its function.
If the language has a yellow coating it may indicate to increased body temperature, fever, which is a sign of inflammation or bacterial infection.
Peeled tongue -- it could mean that the body is completely exhausted and without energy, and can be an indicator of allergy and autoimmune diseases.
