Anti-dandruff shampoos can be an effective means of treating this common cosmetic issue, but they usually come with side effects. For one thing, shampoos often contain aggressive chemical compounds, which can have an adverse effect on your health. That’s why home remedies are a much better way to get rid of dandruff without triggering other health issues. The natural remedies we offer here can eliminate dandruff in a completely safe way and improve your hair and scalp health at the same time.

Olive oil

Mix two tablespoons of olive oil and a tablespoon of almond oil. Apply the mixture on your head gently massaging your scalp. Leave the oil on your head for 15 minutes before you rinse it off thoroughly.

Also, you can combine olive oil and rosemary. Mix one tablespoon of olive oil with 10 drops of rosemary oil and apply on your head. Ideally, you should leave it act overnight and wash it off in the morning.

Apple cider vinegar

One way to treat dandruff is by mixing the same amount of water and apple cider vinegar. Apply this mixture on your hair and leave it to act overnight. The next day, rinse your hair with a mild shampoo.

If you have sensitive skin, then mix ACV and warm water in a ratio 1:4. Wash your hair as usual and then rinse it with this mixture. You may feel a slight burning, but this is normal. Massage your scalp gently then rinse again with warm water to prevent the strong smell.

Aloe vera

Aloe vera is an amazing natural treatment for dandruff. It is recommended to apply some aloe vera juice on your scalp 2-3 hours before washing your hair. Massage gently. This method eliminates dandruff and strengthens your hair roots at the same time.

Chamomile tea

Chamomile soothes sensitive and inflamed skin. Make some fresh chamomile tea and as soon as it cools, apply it on your scalp. Massage gently. It is recommended not to rinse your hair afterwards.

Alternatively, you can use thyme instead of chamomile.
